Section 24
Vocational Training and Self-Employment
: (1) The Government of Nepal will provide vocational training to develop the skills of disabled people and create conditions for self-employment.
(2) The Government of Nepal shall provide loans at subsidized rates to persons with disabilities who wish to do various professions or businesses based on their skills, abilities and proposals prepared by them for their professions and businesses.
(3) No establishment shall discriminate against persons with disabilities in terms of employment and related matters.
(4) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (3), the Government of Nepal may grant an exemption in the case of any employment so that the provisions of that sub-section shall not apply.
(5) The establishment should make arrangements for disabled workers or employees to work easily.
(6) No one shall deny or deny promotion to any person on the ground of disability.
(7) Regardless of what is written in the prevailing law, the employing agency and organization shall not remove or demote disabled workers and employees in the course of employment.
(8) With respect to employees with disabilities as per sub-section (7), the following shall be done:-
(a) In the event that such worker or employee is disabled in such a way that he/she cannot perform the work of his/her position, assign him/her to work in another position with the same salary and facilities,
(b) If it is not possible to assign such worker or employee to work in another position, to create another position suitable for him or to maintain an additional position until he retires.
